Hey folks!

Our fall meeting will be October 4th at 1:00 PM at the Western Sizzlin in Scottsboro, AL. This will be an important meeting and we hope if you are in the area you can make it.If you have any interest on bowfishing in the Lake Guntersville area, this will be a very important meeting to attend. It has come to our attention there is a serious threat to the sport of bowfishing on Lake Guntersville. This is not just airboats, but a potential threat to ban basically all night time bowfishing on the lake. We will be discussing the details at this meeting and will let you know what we intend to do. This is exactly why we decided to form this organization and I’m very thankful we did so when we did. Without an organization like we have, we would have a serious problem, but standing united as a group with contact in our state government and local officials, this is something we can have the upper hand on. So I urge you to attend the meeting if possible, and we will fill you in on all the details.We will also discuss on how to continue the great growth we’ve had, how to become more active in the community, and how to provide more opportunities and fun activities for members. Please bring any suggestions you have on what we can to better our organization.Oct 4th is also the ASB championship shoot hosted by Copperheads Outdoors and Backwater Outdoors. You can pre-register for the shoot by calling either place 256-586-1100 (Copperheads) 256-776-9109 (Backwater). This is the Bowfishing for Breast Cancer shoot and proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation. If you pre-register you will guaranteed t-shirts in your size. Entry is $100 and the format is Big 5 with 1 grass carp, no catfish. Teams can register and leave from Backwater Outdoors or Copperheads Outdoors at 7 PM and will weigh in at the Lurleen B. Wallace pavilion in Guntersville AL at 7 AM. Trailering allowed to any public boat launch. For additional info just contact us.Remember our club offers free membership to anyone on the U.S. and provides a united voice to protect our bowfishing rights here in Alabama. With more threats coming to the bowfishing lifestyle, it’s important we have an organization that will speak to state officials and represent our interests. We also provide many fun activities including a trophy fish club, bowfishing records for Alabama, sanctioned tournaments, Alabama bowfishermen/bowfisherwoman of the year, team of the year, and more!
